Holy Week Fast | Wednesday

Ephesians 5:2

Today is the last day of the fast! We will continue focusing on deepening our intimacy with Jesus—that we might know, experience, and believe in Jesus’ love poured out for us on the cross. Our hope and prayer is that this is an open door to abiding love.

Today, we’ll be praying out of Ephesians 5:1-2, a short passage about our identity and calling in Jesus. Take a moment at the beginning of your day, during meal times, or whenever makes sense to meditate on God’s word, letting the Holy Spirit breathe new life and insight on His words, and venturing deeper into the truths of the Gospel.

And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Ephesians 5:2

Below are a few prompts to help guide your prayer, but feel free to open up your time to the Holy Spirit’s leading into deeper relationship and intimacy with the Father.

  • Holy Spirit, what ways have you been working in my mind, body, and emotions this week? (feel free to turn this into a moment of gratitude)

  • Father, what does it mean to be your beloved child? Do I hear your voice calling me the beloved? What is one area, situation, or part of me that you’d like me to hear your Voice of Love?

  • Jesus, who are you asking me to love as you love? What is one way I can sacrifice for that person? Or what is one way that I can share the fragrance of Christ? Take a moment to also pray for the person that came to mind.

We’d love to see you tonight at the church! We’ll break our fasts together, share testimony of what God has been doing and speaking, and pray as God’s beloved children. Bring some food and we’ll see you at 6pm!

Ephesians 5:1-2

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
